Let’s hit the slopes - The Schmittenhöhe
Over 77 km of slopes there are 5 valley runs for all skill levels. The Schmittenhöhe is the perfect ski mountain for the whole family. The mountain offers a ski movie track, the Fun slope XXL, Skiline.cc-altitude measurement and much more. Here are the highlights for you:
Audi Ski run and your altitude on skiline.cc: Compete with your colleagues on the Audi Ski run! As well as your time, your run will be recorded by a fully automatic camera. On skiline.cc you can also see how many kilometres you have skied. Action guaranteed!
Ski & Brunch: The early risers can enjoy freshly groomed slopes. The cable cars open their doors on certain days at 7:00am! Afterwards you can enjoy brunch together. ATTENTION: Registration at the Schmittenhöhebahnen is required!
Night slope: In winter, our guests can also carve a few turns in the snow in the evening. The Ebenbergbahn is open every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 18:30-21:00/6:30-9:00pm. Enjoy a perfectly floodlit slope above the romantic old town of Zell
Fun slope Schmitten XXL: On the Fun slope there are countless sharp turns, tunnels and waves, as well as one or two surprises. At 1.300 kilometres, it is one of the longest in the world. You can find the entrance directly under the Schmidhofalm on slope number 18.
Vera's insider secret tip: the Trass descent is one of the most demanding slopes in the region. With a gradient of up to 70%, skiers are challenged for a total length of 4150 metres!

Let’s hit 3,000 metres - The Kitzsteinhorn
The Kitzsteinhorn lures you with wide glacier slopes and natural snow throughout the entire year. The best part: whether fresh powder snow in autumn or a sunbathing in spring, the glacier skiing remains a unique experience. On 41 km of slopes, the snow-hungry guests will find all aspects of an unforgettable skiing experience:
Freeride XXL: Due to the altitude and the unique terrain, the Kitzsteinhorn is one of the most varied freeride Eldorados in Salzburger Land. The five signposted freeride routes offer the correct terrain for all skill levels. The exact overview of the routes X1 "Ice Age", X2 "Westside Story", X3 "Left Wing", X4 "Jump Run" and X5 "Pipe Line" can be found here.
Snow parks & Super pipe: There are a total of 3 snow parks and a super pipe on the Kitzsteinhorn. All action-hungry freeriders can shred the Glacier Park on the glacier plateau from early autumn. From December, the Easy and Central Parks are ready for all adrenaline junkies. Among numerous rails and boxes you can find a pro kickers up to 18 metres. The six metre super pipe is the largest in the country.
Ice Camp: Just above the Alpine Center lies the Ice Camp of snow and ice. On 5,000 m², 60 tonnes of ice are used each year to build three interconnected igloos which host an ice bar and the Audi Show Rooms. Just outside the igloos there are loungers available for you to enjoy the sun.
How to access the Kitzsteinhorn
NEW FROM WINTER 2019/20: For decades we have dreamed of this and from this coming winter the 3K K-onnection becomes reality: You can take the gondola from the centre of the village to the Kitzsteinhorn glacier. The monocable holding 10 passengers per cabin starts at the new Kaprun Center and brings 2,800 guests per hour onto the Maiskogel family mountain. From there you can take the first three-lane cable car to the Kitzsteinhorn glacier. Here is all the information about the mega-project.

Ski tours – the hiking of winter
The tired eyes look out the icy window and then the first rays of sun shine through. A wonderful winter's day is about to begin. Today we go off-piste for some ski touring. In addition to a wonderful descent in powder snow, the ski tourer gets their fitness training in when going uphill. The best part: In Zell am See - Kaprun there are a variety of ski tour routes for all skill levels - on and off the slopes!

The Ronachkopf at night
At the Ronachkopf our guests will not find any lifts, so the mountain is only for ski tourers! Nevertheless, there is a groomed ski route (2.5 kilometres), which makes the night touring a safe experience. The start is at the "parking lot Ronachkopf" (Parkplatz Ronachkopf) in Thumersbach valley. On Google Maps you can find the pin with the same name. From there you follow the signposted ski route 600 HM uphill. Shortly before the summit you will find the Enzianhütte. There you can enjoy Pinzgau delicacies daily.

The local mountain of Kaprun – The Maiskogel
On Wednesday evenings the Maiskogel is open for ski tourers. It is recommended to start between 16:00-17:00/4:00-5:00pm to have enough time before 20:00/8:00pm for a stop off at one of the numerous huts on the way. The summiteers have to go until just under the top lift station to visit the quaint Glocknerblick. Those who make a few metres less can visit the Helis hut. Anyone who has ever made a full moon tour knows the experience which awaits you. Here is some important information about the climb.

Snow queen, icebreaker and Tristkogel on the Kitzsteinhorn (Schneekönigin, Eisbrecher und Tristkogel)
All three tours start from Langwiedboden at the Kitzsteinhorn. While the Schneeköniging leads with 474 vertical metres to the Alpine centre, you can continue the icebreaker tour with 1019 vertical metres to the mountain station of the Maurerkogel. Both tours can be done close to the slopes. The tour to the Tristkogel has almost 600 vertical metres and runs through alpine terrain. For this reason, it is advised to have a certified mountain guide with you. Our mountain guides will also have numerous suggestions for alpine tours in the region. Cross-country skiing in skating or classic step
Cross-country skiing in Zell am See - Kaprun
You can search for a comparable and diversified cross-country network such as here in Zell am See – Kaprun but you won’t find one. Whether in classic or skating style, at night or in altitude training, our guests will find the perfect cross-country skiing conditions. You will find the start of the castle and night trail in the centre of Kaprun (fire station), as well as the Tauern Spa trail. For those who want to train in the early autumn or in the spring, you will find the perfect altitude training camp on the glacier trail Kitz. Via the trail in Zell am See - Maishofen, you can walk into the adjoining network of the Saalachtal. Via Kaprun you can join the Piesendorf trail and get as far as Niedernsill. This offers up to a total of more than 107 kilometres of trails. The exact routes and a map overview can be found here.
